3D Printer Collaboration with WISE Club

The goal of the this project is to have students learn how to develop 3D designs using computer software, and then print the model using a 3D printer. The WISE (Women in Science & Engineering) Club will spend the first part of the school year learning how to use the computer software and 3D printer, and then go to the middle school to share the technology with younger students. The grant money would go towards the cost of the 3D printer, materials, and transportation. The total cost of a 3D printer with printing materials is about $5000, and Old Town School has raised about $2800 towards this equipment so far. This equipment will also be used in an Engineering Physics class where students create prototypes.
