4H Girls in STEM Projects for Cumberland County

This program aims to motivate girls towards careers in nontraditional areas of Science,Technology,Engineering and Maths.

The program is organized as a 4H after school program in conjunction with the 21st Century after school programs in both the middle school and High school, and school age child care at the elementary school.

Older students are encourage to assist with junior programs We have volunteer instruction from local experts in each of the fields mentioned (STEM) along with tution from teachers from the Cumberland County Schools.

Projects are chosen by the students with high priority given to topics that will improve the quality of life of the community.

The students are encouraged to research the topic they have chosen and then present it for consideration by the group for final decision on what topic they will work on as a whole . Or compete on in teams for the best solution or invention.
