9 Dots

9 Dots was founded by a passionate group of engineers and educators who believe all kids deserve the chance to choose their own futures. We offer a range of programs, all dedicated to getting kids more excited about STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and closing the opportunity gap for students from less privileged backgrounds.

AFTER SCHOOL: Every day during the school year, we run a free after school program in our Learning Center in Hollywood, where students get the chance to work on their homework, do additional academic work, and take fun technology classes. We aim to support students academically as well as increase their passion for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math).

DEVY: We run a free weekend and summer program (devY) dedicated to getting kids more excited and skilled in coding, with classes about robotics, app design, and Minecraft design. In devY Bots, students learn to build and program maze and sumo battle bots using JavaScript. devY Apps is designed to spark a passion for computer programming by teaching kids to create simple apps. In devY Minecraft, students learn to automate building by programming in Lua.

GETCODING: We provide in-school coding support through our getcoding initiative, supporting teachers by providing professional development, curriculum, and instructors that come into classrooms.
