A GEM Affair - Girls Engaging Mentors

The event showcased 16 women that are in very diverse STEM-related and non-traditional occupations such as: Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Environmentalist, Pharmacist/Drug Patent Attorney, Water Quality Biologist, Accountant, Architect. The non-traditional occupations were represented by District Judge, State Representative, Funeral Director, Heavy Equpment Operator,Military Recruiter and 3 Busines Entrepreneurs. The 145 - 9th grade girls were divided into small groups and then rotated through the different classrooms where each Mentor shared their career journey with the students.
