Apalachee Ridge Technology Ridge

As a Learning Center, we concentrate our efforts in two major areas: First, as an effective after school program: Merge a variety of arts, recreation and literacy activities with technology, coupled with allowing students some down time to socialize as well. Serve as a zone of safety where students receive homework help, academic enrichment and many opportunities to explore new ideas and interests rather than replicating the school day. Provide the opportunity for our students to develop relationships with staff, our Americorps/VISTAs, and with volunteers from a wide cross-section of the community. Second, as a community based digital media learning lab: Foster an environment in which the arts can thrive and contribute to the continued revitalization of the community. Generate more public and private sector resources for the arts and arts education for youth living on Tallahassee's south side. Identify and build individual appreciation of the value of arts for youth and adults in the community.
