AWSEM Symposium for Young Women

The AWSEM (Advocates for Women in Science, Engineering and Mathematics) Symposium "Wild About Science" introduces middle school girls to professional women role models, providing an opportunity for girls to participate in a variety of experiences related to these fields. The intent is to motivate middle school girls to pursue higher education and careers in the areas of science, engineering and math. Participants, who are nominated by their school, select and attend three of ten hands-on workshops covering topics such as nursing, forensic science, engineering, chemistry, and more. A Science Magic Show will perform during the luncheon. The day will wrap up with recognition of the attendees.
