B. Michael Caudill Middle School Tech Ed

Our Technology Education program involves presentation of the Gateway To Technology curriculum to 6th, 7th and 8th grade students. Our intent is to 1) introduce them to the world of engineering and its purpose, 2) reinforce the importance of math and science as they apply to engineering, and 3) provide relevant and rigorous instruction to each student so that they can develop and/or improve their engineering-related knowledge, as well as their problem-solving and decision-making skills.

In addition, we plan to offer summer "camps" in order to provide additional opportunities for county students to experience engineering in a really fun and exciting setting. Camps will be co-ed and/or gender specific.

We will also offer related opportunities through our Student Technology Leadership Program (STLP), an after-school program geared at offering technology-related opportunities for all interested students, with an emphasis in hands-on and leadership-developing experiences. The STLP Program will provide specific opportunities in computer-training and robotics and will include a Technology Student Association (TSA) club.
