“Let’s Inspire Future Engineers!” (LIFE!) Workshop

Hello Future Engineer!, Have you ever wondered what it took to construct the Golden Gate Bridge of San Francisco? Or how doctors were able to create a device that can be implanted to replace the functions of a viable heart? Perhaps you’ve used an application on your smartphone or tablet, and questioned who was able to design such a creative program to make life easier. The answer is simple – engineering!

On behalf of Rutgers University and the Douglass Project for Rutgers Women in Math, Science and Engineering, we would like to invite you to our LIFE! Workshop on Saturday, March 29th, 2014. This program is structured with the purpose of stimulating interest of females in engineering, with the hopes of developing future engineers. With our interactive projects and presentations, we will be answering the questions, “What is engineering?”

“What can I do as an engineer?”, and “How can I prepare myself to be a successful engineer, as well as successful in general?” In addition, our program is facilitated by Rutgers engineering students, so you will have the opportunity to learn first-hand from students who are immersed in learning about the fields of engineering, and you will be able to connect with them in a fun, relaxed environment.
