Teacher-Student Research Teams

High School educators who have participated as teacher interns in MDIBL's summer research program at the Community Environmental Health Laboratory are invited to submit environmental research proposals to our visiting scientist program to explore their own research questions with student teams from their schools.  Those teachers who are awarded visiting scientist status may choose up to four students from their school to participate in marine research related to understanding and preserving our local marine habitats. Teachers and students will become mentors for others at their school, integrating research skills and marine topics into existing curriculum, and inspiring others pursue research questions with the aim of improving and preserving local environments.
