The EYH Network

Founded in 1974, the EYH Network is an organization of educators, scientists, mathematicians, parents, community leaders, students, and government and corporate representatives whose mission is to promote the continuing development in mathematics and science of all people, with particular emphasis on the needs of women and girls. To achieve this, in 1976 the Network developed educational conference opportunities, Expanding Your Horizons in Science and Mathematics (EYH), for 6th to 12th grade young women. The Network continues to license and coordinate Expanding Your Horizons? Conferences held across the country. The goals of the EYH conferences are:

* to provide young women with opportunities to meet and interact with positive women role models who are active in math and science related careers;

* to involve young women with limited opportunities for success in positive experiences in mathematics and science;

* to increase the interest of young women in math and science by providing exciting and fun hands-on learning experiences;

* to encourage young women to study as much math and science as possible by showing them the benefits of education and its relevance to their lives;

* to foster awareness of career opportunities in science and math related careers.

Since 1976, 600,000 young women in the United States and Canada have attended Expanding Your Horizons' conferences hosted and organized by tens of thousands of volunteers.
