Wyandotte Lego Robotics Outreach at Mark Twain Elementary

Every week, students from Wyandotte High School develop and present a lego based curriculum to teach elementary students science and engineering concepts using the Lego Simple Machines sets.

This is the second year of the program and we now serve the 1st and 2nd grade. Next year we will be serving 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade. As we move forward, our goal is to follow the original group set and offer the program to all grade levels.

We are working on developing a continuous curriculum that will incorporate STEM concepts that match the curriculum of science core and engineering elective courses in High School.  We want to be able to identify the effect of this program on students and their partipation in the Middle School and High School robotics programs, as well as their selections of engineeering electives when they reach High School.
